Soak the Brush
The warm water and detergent will soften the dirt and debris in the hair bristles. You can also use vinegar and baking soda for cleaning hair brushes and combs. Pour half cup of vinegar in half cup of warm water and soak all your brushes and comb into it for about half an hour.
This depends on how often you use them. My horse is kept out in a field, so after grooming him once a day, I’ll put mine in the washing machine once a week – usually at a weekend when I’ve got more time. If you use them more often, for example on a busy competition yard, it’s advisable to wash them once a day.

Mrs Hinch, real name Sophie Hinchcliffe, then adds one tablespoon of washing up liquid and one tablespoon of white vinegar to the water. The mum-of-one says the vinegar helps to remove bacteria and germs. Allow the brushes to sit in the water mixture for at least an hour.14 мая 2020 г.
Wash the bristles under a warm-water tap using a gentle soap such as Ivory dish liquid. Then air-dry, preferably with bristles down (perching the brush at the edge of sink with something on top of the handle to weight it down works well).
Once a week, soak the brush head in a bowl of rubbing alcohol for 1 minute (and don’t rinse). This will kill any remaining bacteria. Make sure to always let your brush head air-dry on a clean towel in a well-ventilated room.
First, over-bathing will deplete your horse’s natural skin oils, leaving his coat dry and flaky and prone to skin infections. Bathing more than once a week is more than likely too frequent. However, quick spot-cleans and shampoo-less rinses can be done with greater regularity.
