The ideal size for a box stall might vary, depending on the size of the horses it’s going to house. For ponies and compact breeds, such as Morgans or Arabians, a 10 feet by 10 feet space probably is sufficient, but for most horses over 15 hands, the accepted standard is 12 feet by 12 feet.

Yes they can but will need supplementary feeding with hay and/or hard feed.. My own personal experience would say that one acre of pasture is insufficient to support two horses without supplemental feeding.

If you keep it clean, and your horses get exercised, 1/2 acre is plenty of room to keep two horses. You will have 1/2 acre of dirt, but it’s more room than a stall, which many horses live it. We have 4 on a half and acre. Keep in mind however that 2 are ponies and 2 are small horses.

Stellar recommends a minimum of 14′ x 14′ for the door and a barn at least 40′ x 60′ x 16′ for just trailer storage. If you want to store tractor and trailer, go with a 40′ x 80′ x 16′ pole barn.
