There is a small selection of free drinks available on Princess Cruises including tea, coffee, water, lemonade and iced tea. All other drinks are paid for. Princess Cruises also offer drinks packages that can be bought before your cruise or onboard the ship.
Consider that a beer on the ship costs between $6-8, including gratuity. For a drink package running $60 per day, you’d have to drink about 8-10 beers each and every day — including on days when you are in port — to get your money’s worth.
For the best price, you should always book your drinks package in advance before your cruise and not wait until you get on- board the ship. The onboard prices are inflated, and it’s still always cheaper to buy your package before you cruise.
6. Don’t skip formal night – REPEAT: DO NOT SKIP FORMAL NIGHT! Gone, for the most part, are the days of tuxedos and ball gowns on “ formal night.” There are still cruise lines that require formal wear, including sports jackets for men on formal night. However, in general, cruising has become more casual.
There are many ways to smuggle alcohol on cruise ships. These include home-made booze disguises and specially-designed alcohol bags for cruise ship use. Shampoo bottles. Mouthwash bottles. Wine bottles. Rum runners. Tampon flasks. Fake beer belly. Wine rack bra. Binocular flask.
Guests are prohibited from bringing water, sodas and other non-alcoholic beverages that are packaged in glass or plastic bottles.
Underage passengers who try to sneak alcohol onboard face the same repercussions as anyone else; the booze will get confiscated. The only difference is they won’t get it back at the end of the cruise.
In general, the most popular spot to be on a cruise ship is midship on a higher deck because these rooms are centrally located. Moreover, cabins towards the middle of the ship have the reputation of providing a smoother ride when the ocean is rough.
I know what you ‘re thinking – ‘ can ‘t I just share a drinks package with people from another cabin? ‘ Unfortunately not – this is strictly prohibited and enforced by all cruise lines. Some cruise lines even go so far to limit the amount of drinks orders to two drinks per order only.
