All about the ancient tribes
Easter’s exact date varies so much because it actually depends on the moon. The holiday is set to coincide with the first Sunday after the Paschal Full Moon, the first full moon after the vernal equinox. Because the Jewish calendar is tied to solar and lunar cycles, the dates of Passover and Easter fluctuate each year.

By ecclesiastical rules set centuries ago, there are 35 dates on which Easter can take place. The earliest possible date for Easter is March 22 and the latest possible date is April 25. Easter can never come as early as March 21, however.
However, because the Church observes the equinox on March 21, the full Moon technically did not occur “on or just after” the equinox, meaning that the next full Moon would determine Easter’s date instead. Thus, in 2019, Easter was held on Sunday, April 21, after the full Moon on Friday, April 19.
The next day—April 1, the end of Lent—is Holy Thursday, the anniversary of the last supper. Good Friday, on April 2, is celebrated next, and that commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The week comes to a close on Easter Sunday, which is April 4, when Jesus rose from the tomb.
It can fall any time between 22 March and 22 April. In 2020, Easter Sunday will be on 12 April, which will make Good Friday 10 April and the Easter Monday bank holiday 13 April.
