On either your traditional landline or mobile smartphone, just dial * 67 followed by the number you want to call. * 67 does not work when you call toll-free numbers or emergency numbers. While using * 67 works on smartphones, it must be entered each time you dial a number.
Withholding your telephone number means that it won’t be available to the person you’re calling. You can ask us to permanently withhold your number, or you can choose to withhold it yourself on a call-by-call basis. To withhold your number on individual calls, just dial 141 before the telephone number you want to call.
Phone numbers that are blocked using the star key and the number 67 can always be traced by the phone company and authorities. The call blocking feature is part of a caller ID system, and it is only blocked to the user answering the phone.
Hide your caller ID for all calls Open the Voice app. At the top left, tap Menu. Settings. Under Calls, turn Anonymous Caller ID On. If you want people to see your phone number when you call them, turn Anonymous Caller ID Off.
This Vertical Service Code, * 82, enables calling line identification regardless of subscriber preference, dialed to unblock withheld numbers (private callers) in the U.S. on a per-call basis. * 82 can be dialed from U.S. land-line house phones and business lines, as well as most cell phones and mobile devices.
Star 69 refers to “last-call return,” the Calling Feature Vertical service code * 69 keyed on a landline telephone set in order to return the call of the last one to ring (in Canada and the United States). Star 69 may also refer to: Star 69 (band), an English rock band (1995–1997)
If necessary, callers can still be traced even if they have used the ‘ 141 number withheld ‘ facility. Ask your phone service provider for details. Avoid leaving your name or your number in the opening messages of any answering machines or services that you use.
Simply type the numbers 141 before the phone number you plan to call. Yes, this is the same system used on landlines, first introduced to stop people getting your number when they dialled 1471. You can do the same on a mobile.
If you want to hide your number for an international call, enter 00 instead of + before the number you’re calling.
The * 57 feature is neither a phone tracker nor a GPS tracker. Instead, it’s a call tracing service. This means that the receiver of a call can choose to immediately dial the number of the call received even if it was concealed and anonymous.
You will have to dial * 67 each time you want your number blocked. If you own an iPhone or Android device, automatically block your number by adjusting one simple setting. Your number will appear private for every call you make.
* 67 has nothing to do with whether you’ve blocked the number or not, it just tells your carrier to not send your callerID. It works with any number.
Just like the iPhone, you can turn off Caller ID for all calls on Android if your carrier allows it. To disable it, go to Settings -> Phone -> Call Settings -> Additional Settings -> Caller ID.
Use Caller ID Blocking Prefix: In India, the prefix is *31#. Enter the prefix, followed by the number you are dialing.
