Due to a server outage today (November 29, 2020), the UC Application deadline has been extended to 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on December 4 (translation: Friday night, just before midnight).

UC states right on the website that they almost never accept late applications, so don’t miss this deadline!
Among the larger flagship public colleges, Penn State, Ohio State University, Indiana University and Rutgers are all still accepting applicants for fall 2020.
Catherine confirmed that there is no advantage to applying early at any of the UC campuses and UC applicants who submit early don’t get an advantage nor do they get read sooner. There is also no exception to this policy by major.
No matter what the school is, the essays are often very important. That means no matter who you are, these schools are a reach for everyone. You still have to have the grades and test scores to get into these competitive scores. But, UC Berkeley and UCLA students are much more than just their test scores.
UCs do look at courses you take in freshman and senior years; the grades and rigor of your coursework are considered in context of your overall curriculum. But freshman and senior year grades are NOT included in the GPA calculation. UC -approved Honors, AP, IB and community college courses are weighted.
If an application deadline is missed, then take immediate steps to contact the school’s admissions office. The student should explain why he or she missed the deadline and what steps he or she has taken to correct the error.

UC has a specific way to calculate the grade point average (GPA) it requires for admission. California applicants must earn at least a 3.0 GPA and nonresidents must earn a minimum 3.4 GPA in all A-G or college-preparatory courses to meet this requirement.
