Bounty hunting is not illegal In Star Wars, bounty hunters work from planet-to-planet, and therefore subvert the laws of each system. Bounty hunters don’t treat this as a moral issue; it is simply part of the job. Bounty hunters in the real world work within the legal system, not against it.

Boba Fett was a Mandalorian warrior and bounty hunter of Clan Fett. He was the only unaltered clone of the famed Jango Fett, created in 32 BBY as unit A0050, one of the first of many Fett replicas designed to become part of the Grand Army of the Republic, and was raised as Jango’s son.

The official Star Wars account on Twitter also says Jango and Boba Fett are not Mandalorian: “According to Prime Minister Almec, ( Clone Wars episode ‘The Mandalore Plot’), Jango Fett (and by extension, his son) aren’t actually Mandalorians, they just wear Mandalorian armor.
Darth_Falcon Jedi Master Production photos prove that Bossk was present in Jabba’s palace and sail barge during Return of the Jedi, though he is very difficult to spot in the film. Bossk hasn’t died in any EU.

Boba Fett grew up to be a bounty hunter operating while the Empire ruled the galaxy, primarily for Jabba the Hutt. Boba Fett (spoiler alert) is killed unceremoniously by Han Solo in Return of the Jedi when Solo blindly knocks him into the sarlacc pit, presumably to be eaten by the monster that swallows people whole.
