This year’s Academy Awards will not have a host again, organisers of the annual ceremony have confirmed. Last year’s ceremony was also hostless after Kevin Hart stepped down from his master of ceremonies role.

The 2020 Academy Awards ceremony will air live from Los Angeles’s Dolby Theatre on Sunday, February 9, at 8 pm Eastern/5 pm Pacific on ABC. The awards will also stream live on Oscars.com and the Academy’s Facebook page. But the Academy still has a long way to go in making its ranks more inclusive.
The 92nd Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), honored films released in 2019 and took place on February 9, 2020, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, beginning at 5:00 p.m. PST / 8:00 p.m. EST.
It’s official — the 2020 Academy Awards will have no host. The 2019 Oscars went host -less by necessity, not by design, when Kevin Hart withdrew two days after being named to the job over controversial decade-old tweets, and efforts to get him back failed.

The official ceremony begins on Sunday, February 9 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT, and will most definitely push the envelope towards midnight. Typically, the show runs about three hours. Since it’s taped live, however, the exact length is different each year.

The 2020 Academy Awards have wrapped at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. South Korea’s “Parasite” was the big winner of the night, picking up several key awards, including picture, director, original screenplay and international film. It’s the first foreign-language film in Oscars history to claim the top prize.
The awards have been postponed. Originally, the broadcast was slated for February 28, 2021, but it was rescheduled for April 25, 2021 due to the pandemic. The eligibility window for qualifying films has also been extended, from December 31 of this year to February 28, 2021.
The most successful figure to date in the history of the Academy Awards is Katharine Hepburn, who won four Oscars throughout her acting career.
