HOSA’s two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. HOSA’s goal is to encourage all health science instructors and students to join and be actively involved in the HSE-HOSA Partnership.
We value leadership. We will serve as role models in our academic program, profession and community. We will be ethical, accountable and trustworthy. We will use our influence to empower others to strive for excellence.

HOSAs mission is to deliver kind, respectable health care workers by giving chances for intelligence, skill, and leadership development for all members. This helps HOSA students become great at what they will do.

The 2018-2020 HOSA Service Project (selected by the 2018 Voting Delegates) is the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation (NPCF) HOSA is excited to work with NPCF for the next two years in raising funds and awareness for pediatric cancer.
A HOSA chapter is a “leadership laboratory” not a “club.” Unless all students are actively involved and able to practice and refine their leadership skills through chapter activities, the benefits of HOSA are not fully realized.
HOSA has three levels of student membership, that it calls “divisions”: Middle School Division. Secondary Division. Postsecondary/Collegiate Division.
HOSA assists members to: Develop effective leadership qualities and skills. Build self -confidence, motivation and enthusiasm. Strengthen their academic and technical skills. Create friendships and social networks. Participate in community service activities. Set realistic career and educational goals. Expand communication and teamwork skills.
In December of 1977 at the 71st Annual Convention of the American Vocational Association, the House of Delegates passed a resolution that the AVA Board of Directors, (1) “Recognize – Health Occupations Students of America as the national student organization for Health Occupations Education -“; (2) “Promote the
HOSA Creed I recognize the universal need for quality, compassionate healthcare. I understand the importance of academic excellence, skills training, and leadership development in my career pathway. I believe through service to my community and to the world, I will make the best use of my knowledge and talents.
SkillsUSA (formerly known as VICA ) is a national organization serving high school and college students and professional members enrolled in training programs in technical, skilled, and service occupations, including health occupations in high schools and college/technical schools.
