Beck returns as sort of a ghost to haunt Joe in the second episode of Season 2. She first appears when Joe starts to get closer with Love, and Beck continues to come back when Joe begins losing blood from having his finger cut off.
“He murders her and then confesses to everything he’s ever done but he turns his daughter over to his reformed mother or sister to raise. “It ends with Joe in jail finally paying for his crimes and realising he’s done everything up this point for his daughter and to stop Love.”
Beck hasn’t been seen alive and well on You since the first season’s finale. Joe killed Beck and framed her therapist Dr Nicky (John Stamos) for the murder, resulting in him serving time behind bars.
In the Season 2 finale, Joe’s girlfriend, Love, reveals that she murdered Delilah. It’s not the first time she’s murdered someone, and it won’t be the last. She wanted to protect Joe’s murderous secrets, and in the heat of the moment believed that killing Delilah was the only way to do that.
There are two main motives for Love to kill James. First of all, Love confesses to Joe that her husband had hurt her too. Perhaps he hurt her by not seeing eye to eye about starting a family. James wasn’t keen on having children with her because they were poor and had agreed not to use her parents’ money.
While the mystery of who Joe’s new neighbor is on the show hasn’t been solved, online sleuths figured out who the mystery neighbor actress is in real life. Paying attention to the final credits, they noticed Tiffany Lonsdale is listed as playing the mystery woman.
As he’s trying to kill Joe, Forty is fatally shot by Detective Fincher. During a stand-off with Joe and Love inside Anavrin, Forty (James Scully) pulls a gun on Joe and tries to convince Love that Joe is a terrible murderer.
As Joe took on the identity of Will Bettelheim (who he actually had trapped in his Plexiglass book cage) he ran into the complication that was Jasper, a man who really wanted the $50,000 that the real Will owed him. In the end, Joe stabbed and killed Jasper.
During one of Joe’s visions in Season 2, Episode 2, Beck confronts him about the killing. “You hurt me,” she tells him repeatedly. In it, Joe chokes Beck to death on the bookstore floor after she fails to escape. She fights back, but he overpowers her and ultimately kills her, according to Bustle.
The first season of the show is based off the book You by Caroline Kepnes, the second season is based on the second book in the series called Hidden Bodies. But, in the end of the second book Hidden Bodies, Joe has been arrested and it ends with him in jail (engaged to Love) NOT in suburbia like the show.
