All about the ancient tribes
Sea of Thieves has officially surpassed 15 million players since its launch in March 2018. June 2020 was also the most active month the game has ever seen, with 3.3 million active players. Sea of Thieves is available for Xbox One and Windows PC via the Microsoft Store and Steam.
To answer the original question: No, the game is not dead.
There is no way to get the game, or closed beta access for free anymore. Insider members that signed up before December 1st got access to the closed beta. But if anyone wants access now they will have to preorder the game.
Can my pet die? Heavens no! Pets in Sea of Thieves do not take any damage from you, your crew or a rival crew so you have nothing to worry about.
Sea of Thieves is a fun but uneven multiplayer game that allows you to roll around with friends as a crew of four (or two, on a smaller ship) pirates. For those among us who prefer to play on their own, or just can’t rustle up a group, don’t worry: Sea of Thieves is a perfectly viable solo experience.
The core gameplay loop is still incredibly uninviting for solo players. Alternatively, if you prefer more blunt terms, it’s quite boring. There’s nothing stopping you from playing Sea of Thieves by yourself, but the game is definitely more of a party game than anything else.
No, it is not. Pay to win is used when you spend real money to gain an in game advantage.
Little kids may love pirates, but pirating isn’t kid’s stuff. With a Teen rating, Sea of Thieves is more appropriate for adults and older teenagers. There’s a lot going on in Sea of Thieves, and with very little in the way of tutorials, it can be a daunting game for young players.
Combat is clunky and enemy variety is non-existent. Combat in Sea of Thieves leaves much to be desired. The lack of content and end-game content extends to the game’s combat. There just aren’t that many different types of enemies and fighting them isn’t very much fun.
Unfortunately, Sea of Thieves does not have any split screen functionality. What this means is that the only way to play co-op with a friend is if they have a copy of the game and somewhere to play it. At the moment, Sea of Thieves is available on Xbox consoles and PC through the Microsoft Store.
It can be very fun and memorable sailing on the Sea of Thieves. However, as you experienced it can also be some of the worse experiences in a video game when you encounter other players.
You cannot play solo offline in Sea of Thieves. You can, however, play solo online in a two-man ship (or sloop). The hostilities that inevitably come with playing Sea of Thieves means it is recommended you set sail with a two to four-man squad.
Players have agreed that cats are probably the cutest. They will stand up and meow at players when viewed through a spyglass. But other players have said they are the most annoying during combat. In order to get that pirate head in the game, however, cats might be the best option.
A simple solution. Have the pet slots be in the ship not the player. Each ship can have x# of pets based on size of the ship.
No. They are pretty boring after 5 minutes and give away your location when you are trying to be sneaky. Save your real world money for something positive. Like flowers for your mother or a sandwich.
