Open your phone’s keypad and dial * – 6 – 7, followed by the number you’re trying to call. You will have to dial *67 each time you want your number blocked. Block your number by default on iOS and Android. If you own an iPhone or Android device, automatically block your number by adjusting one simple setting.
To block your number on Android: Open the Phone app. Open the Menu. Select Settings. Click on Call settings. Click on Additional settings. Click on Caller ID. Choose Hide number and your number will be hidden.
Withholding your telephone number means that it won’t be available to the person you’re calling. You can ask us to permanently withhold your number, or you can choose to withhold it yourself on a call-by-call basis. To withhold your number on individual calls, just dial 141 before the telephone number you want to call.
On a per-call basis, you can’t beat * 67 at hiding your number. This trick works for smartphones and landlines. The free process hides your number, which will show up on the other end as “Private” or “Blocked” when reading on caller ID. You will have to dial * 67 each time you want your number blocked.
Star 69 refers to “last-call return,” the Calling Feature Vertical service code * 69 keyed on a landline telephone set in order to return the call of the last one to ring (in Canada and the United States). Star 69 may also refer to: Star 69 (band), an English rock band (1995–1997)
Just like the iPhone, you can turn off Caller ID for all calls on Android if your carrier allows it. To disable it, go to Settings -> Phone -> Call Settings -> Additional Settings -> Caller ID.
This Vertical Service Code, * 82, enables calling line identification regardless of subscriber preference, dialed to unblock withheld numbers (private callers) in the U.S. on a per-call basis. * 82 can be dialed from U.S. land-line house phones and business lines, as well as most cell phones and mobile devices.
To block your number from being displayed temporarily for a specific call: Enter *67. Enter the number you wish to call (including area code). Tap Call. The words “Private,” “Anonymous,” or some other indicator will appear on the recipient’s phone instead of your mobile number.
Isn’t * 67 just for blocking caller id and *69? Anything that goes over a phone line or through a satellite can be traced if someone really wanted to. Yes, what * 67 does is make your number appear as private. It cannot be traced not even if you *69 and try to call it back.
To hide your number when making outgoing calls please follow the instructions outlined below: From the Home screen tap Phone. Tap Menu. and then tap Call settings. Scroll down and tap Additional settings. This may take several moments to load. Tap Caller ID. Select Hide number.
Hide your caller ID for all calls Open the Voice app. At the top left, tap Menu. Settings. Under Calls, turn Anonymous Caller ID On. If you want people to see your phone number when you call them, turn Anonymous Caller ID Off.
If you want to hide your number for an international call, enter 00 instead of + before the number you’re calling.

*67 does not work when you call toll-free numbers or emergency numbers. While using *67 works on smartphones, it must be entered each time you dial a number. Most cellular carriers offer a way to block your number on all outgoing calls using the Android or iOS device settings.
