2020 Overwatch League matches will premiere on youtube.com/overwatchleague on Feb. 8.
However, this format was abandoned on March 31 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and all matches were thereafter played online, with the league introducing three midseason tournaments.

The 2018 Overwatch League season was the inaugural season for the Overwatch League, an esports league based on the video game Overwatch which began on January 10, 2018. Regular season play continued through June 16, 2018, while post-season play ran from July 11–28, 2018.
During the 2020 season players earned an average base salary of US $106K, up nearly $10K per player from the 2019 season. The median player salary was $92K, up more than $10K from 2019. The league minimum player salary remains $50K plus benefits.
Blizzard is giving away Overwatch for free on PC, thanks to the Overwatch League. According to the official rules for this particular promotion (PDF), the period to score a free download of Overwatch ends on Jan. 15, 2021, but it might be better to grab it sooner than later.

The Grand Finals were held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on July 27 and 28, in which the London Spitfire swept the Philadelphia Fusion 3– 1, 3–0 to become the first Overwatch League champions.
A new year is here, meaning another milestone for Overwatch as the first-person hero shooter has survived another year despite many in the gaming community insisting that the Blizzard title is dying. So is Overwatch really dying? The short answer is no. At least, as far as we can tell from the numbers.
According to Activision Blizzard’s 2018 annual report, in a record year where they generated $1.8 billion in total cash flow, the League financially overperformed compared to their “original plans.” Because of this, it was able to sell new franchise slots “at substantially higher prices than [the] first team sales.”
