4. Clay Morrow (Ron Perlman) — This was the first pivotal death that proved “SOA” wasn’t afraid to eliminate a central character. After the club voted unanimously to kill its former president, Clay was gunned down at close range by Jax, the man he raised as a son.
After meeting up with the Irish, Jax kills Galen and his men. He explains the situation, stating the Club took a unanimous vote how to handle the situation. Clay, accepting of his fate, stands ready. Jax then executes Clay by shooting him in the neck and then five times in the chest while he is on the floor.
This is the first season in which five main charcters die: Bobby (“What a Piece of Work is Man”), Juice, Wayne and Gemma (“Red Rose”) and finally Jax (“Papa’s Goods”).
Sons of Anarchy – “Hands” Clay beats Gemma. I can’t believe Clay didn’t kill Gemma in this week’s episode of Sons of Anarchy. Leaving her alive is signing the death warrant for one—or maybe both—of them. He has to know that she’s done with him and his lies and his greed.
While angrily attempting to kill Laroy Wayne by running him down outside of a restaurant because he believed the man killed Clay, Tig accidentally hits and kills his date instead, Veronica Pope. This act not only led to the death of one daughter, but also Tig’s own daughter Dawn.
Pope warns them about what would happen to whoever kills him, but regardless Tig executes him with two bullets to the head and gets his revenge for Dawn’s death. Jax then reveals the gun they used is Clay’s and he will be framed for the murder.
Ultimately, Gemma’s lies lead to her own death at the end of Red Rose, after Abel exposes her hand in Tara’s murder to Jax in the previous episode. She ends up getting killed by her own son with a single shot to the back of the head.
5 Killed Unser By the end of Sons of Anarchy, Jax has killed over forty people.
In an unflinching scene that was brutal even by “Sons” standards, Clay was killed by the man he raised as a son, Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam). Jax then fired a bullet at close range through Clay’s neck. His death was the latest reminder that it’s unwise to get attached to any character in “Sons of Anarchy.”
Tig whispers something to him that ends with, “Don’t worry.” He wants Jax to know he’ll be okay. Chibs kisses him on the cheek, and Jax makes his exit as the guys look on. He turns to face them before putting on his helmet: “I got this,” he says.
“The mayhem had to end with him. He did not want his sons to follow in his path.” He then took another tweet to complete his answer in which he shared that his children, Abel and Thomas, were a major factor. Jax did not want them to be a part of the motorcycle gang lifestyle and wanted them to go their own paths.
Sons of Anarchy Season 7 Episode 7 Recap: Abel Learns Gemma Killed Tara /Bobby Gets Taken. Abel stumbles upon the truth when he hears Gemma telling his baby brother Thomas that she killed mommy on accident. Needless to say, it is only a matter of time before he says what he heard- and Gemma has no idea he heard her!
Gemma almost cheats on Clay with Tig when he goes to her house to collect guns. When she begins to flirt and come onto Tig, he becomes angry and stops her, asking “what are we doing?” Though he left before things went any further, it’s obvious that Gemma would have been fine cheating on Clay.
One one hand, she’s asking Gemma essentially for her love and support, as if to get Gemma to assure her that nothing is going to happen to her; that they are on the same page /side about the kids & Jax. Despite his behavior with the club, he always showed Tara and the kids nothing but support.
Gemma has always lacked a conscience (she tells Wendy in Season 1 that her conscience is the last thing that will get in the way of her protecting her family) but she’s more of a sociopath – she feels guilty for murdering Tara but appears superficially normal in social relationships.
